The Shibamata 1-chome Shopping Association was established around 1949, named after the Yatteki Bridge, which is now an intersection. In addition, the name of the place was Shinjuku 4-chome, so it became Shinjuku 4-chome Shotenkai, and later it became the current Shibamata 1-chome Shotenkai after the change of residential indication.
In order to play a part in the lives of local residents, we have developed into a shopping street with deep roots in the local community.
In addition to the member stores of the shopping association, there are more than 30 stores in the shopping arcade, including fresh food stores, food products, household goods, barber shops, dry cleaners, restaurants, prepared foods, and mini supermarkets.
